The average standard annual farm output in Ireland is €45,945.
Our experience shows that the average farm uses 40 MWh of energy per year. If your new renewable energy system produces 829 MWh annually and you use 40 MWh for your house and farm, you can export 789 MWh to the public grid. This represents an annual income of €102,570 at current prices. The investment will pay for itself in 5-10 years, depending on the size of the project. Once the new renewable energy system has been connected to the grid, the average farm output will increase from €45,945 to €148,515, i.e. 3.23 times. The energy will be generated using just 1.2-2.8% of the land. These are average figures, of course. We will provide you with a financial estimate tailored to your farm in your initial Feasibility Study.
